Hollywood is known as the place where dreams come true – and with good reason, too! While not everyone who visits will land the lead role in a big budget movie, there are countless other activities that will leave you smiling from ear to ear. Here are five things you MUST do when visiting Hollywood.
1. Meander down the Walk of Fame
There are more than 2,000 names on the Walk of Fame – and each year more and more are added. The 15 block-long attraction celebrates legends from all walks of the entertainment industry, including the likes of Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and The Beatles.
2. Hike up to the Hollywood sign
Nothing screams Tinseltown more than the iconic Hollywood sign. First erected on Mount Lee in 1923, the sign has since become one of the most recognisable structures in the entire world. For the best experience, try hiking up to the landmark and soaking in the amazing views over Los Angeles.
3. Rock out at the Hollywood Bowl
The Hollywood Bowl is a venue like no other. The historic amphitheatre, tucked away north of Hollywood Boulevard, has hosted musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday and The Doors. In recent years the likes of Kanye West and Avicii have also performed there.
4. Visit the TLC Chinese Theatre
The TLC Chinese Theatre is certainly bursting with history. The most popular part of the attraction is actually outside the venue, as concrete blocks bear the signatures and handprints of Hollywood’s finest. Among the prints includes Will Smith’s and Clint Eastwood’s. Be sure to check how your hand measures up to the stars’!
5. Stroll into West Hollywood
A short walk away from Hollywood is West Hollywood. Don’t let the name fool you, they’re two completely different places with their own distinct identities. West Hollywood – or WeHo as it’s commonly called – features hot spots like the Viper Room and the Roxy Theater on the Sunset Strip. There’s also Melrose Avenue just around the corner for those who fancy a bit of high-end shopping.
What are you waiting for?
There’s certainly something for everyone in Hollywood. So, get planning the trip of a lifetime by applying for an ESTA visa and booking your flights. What are you waiting for?
