Everything you’ve heard about the Las Vegas Strip is true. It’s unique, wacky and, best of all, it’s a lot of fun.

The great thing about travelling to America is that it’s like a number of countries all housed in the one landmass. Each vacation you take to the States has its own unique charm, and Vegas is right up there, at the very top of the list.

Get your documents in order first

Well in advance of departing, ensure that you and your travel companions have filled out the ESTA visa application. Once your ESTA is approved, it will be valid for two years.

Visit the slots

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never set foot in a casino, it’s something you must do here! Walking up and down the Vegas Strip can be tough going under the Nevada sun. Thankfully, you can’t take too many steps without arriving at the next casino, and they are all tourist attractions in their own right, with particular praise for The Bellagio, The Venetian, Caesar’s Palace and the MGM Grand. They all double up as huge hotels, boasting bars, restaurants and shops.

Take in a show

A number of hotels on the Vegas Strip also boast huge arenas which play host to concerts and sports events.

The MGM Grand consistently stages major boxing and MMA events, while The Mirage has exclusive rights to the incredible ‘Love’ Cirque du Soleil extravaganza, which charts the rise of The Beatles in a psychedelic and hugely entertaining way.

Be kind to your feet

When travelling to Vegas for the holiday of a lifetime, pack comfortable walking shoes. Even just seeing what any of the amazing hotels has to offer involves plenty of walking, while the strip itself is just shy of 7km long and is particularly beautiful at night when everything is lit up by dazzling lights.

One of the first things that catches your eye is the scale model of the Eiffel Tower at The Paris Hotel. The roller coaster at New York-New York is well worth a visit too, if you’re brave enough!
